Over the Top Bag
Just thought I would quickly post this bag. It is called the "Over the Top" bag. I haven't made it yet, but it will be a cute one when I am done. I will post some pics when I get to it.
Keyka Lou's City Bag
In my neverending quest to use up my stash, I have created many patterns. I don't purchase may anymore, unless the pattern really strikes me. I saw this bag and knew that I immediately wanted to make it. Here are some pics of my finished product.

Japanse Knot Bag
I was surfing around looking for a different bag and I came across this Japanese Knot Bag. This is a great scrap buster. Doesn't require much fabric and goes together super quick. Here is the one that I did. I am going to make these for some "thank you for coming" gifts for my sister's bachelorette party.

1 Hour Purse
I saw this and had to immediately try it. Don't be intimidated by making your own pattern. It is very easy. With creating the pattern and sewing it all together it did take a little more than an hour, but the 2nd bag I made didn't. Here are some pics.
These are the buttons I used.

Angel Purse
I love sewing and making purses is just about one of my favorite things. I was surfing the net looking for even more purse and pouch patterns (if I use any more ink printing them off my husband may kill me) and found this. So, I decided to download the FREE pattern and get to work. The instructions were incredibly easy to follow and totally cute results ensued. Here are some pics.

I actually have a few more of these cut out also. They are going to make great gifts. I even had a co-worked ask me to make her one like the pink paisley one above (I made that one for myself).

Taggie Blanket
Well, I have a new neice, Kaitlyn, and as the best Aunt in the world, of course, I had to sew up a storm of stuff for her. I was on Facebook and my friend, Shelly, said that her daughters both loved their taggie blanket. I had never heard of them (and actually had to Google it). After deciding that I wasn't going to spend a boatload of money, I came up with my own. Here is the link for the original Taggie Blanket. Below are some pics of what I made (sorry, they are not the greatest).

By the way, I got the velour fabric from Walmart and a bunch of different ribbons and started sewing the pieces of ribbon in between the two layers of fabric. Next, I am gong to make some Taggie stuffed toys (see link here). I found some cool, easy to cut out shapes here. I plan on just printing off the shape that I want, cutting it out of fabric, sewing the two sides together with some ribbons in between and stuffing. I will post pics of my creations when I get them finished. By the way, if you are looking for a tutorial for the Taggie Blanket, click here.Wednesday, February 25, 2009
Fabric Credit Card Wallet
I was searching around the net for some free patterns and found this. I LOVE IT. It is a mini credit card wallet that is perfect for your gym bag or add a keyring and use it as a credit card wallet there. So far, I have made one for just about everyone I know. Once you get the hang of it they are SUPER EASY. I have posted some pics of the ones that I have made below. Enjoy.

Dapper Diaper Bag
As you know, I have a new niece. Before she was born, we didn't know if she was going to be a boy or girl (the mom and dad didn't want to know). Therefore, we had to make everything unisex. I found the Dapper Diaper Bag pattern here. I loved it. I wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. Just follow the directions and it is really easy. Here are some pics of my finished product (the second pic isn't great). By the way, my sister in law LOVED IT (and so did everyone else at the shower).

Welcome to The Fabric Stash
Welcome!!
My name is Jen and I am an avid sewing, crafter and crocheter. I love pretty much all things crafty. This blog will be a place to post crafts, projects and ideas to help use your "fabric stash." I (and just about everyone I know) has a sizeable "stash" of some craft item and this is the place to help clean it all out.
Some of the projects listed here will be my original designs and some will be projects I have found and made. Most will include links or step by step instructions and some pictures. If you have a cool idea or project, please let me know.
Looking forward to sewing together.
